The AR Pizza chef tool on the Domino's app lets customers personalize their own pizza virtually in an entertaining yet also functional service that merges visualization with ecommerce

Creating pizzas in real life can be entertaining, and most definitely messy. Pizza mainstay Domino's is tapping into this creativity and making it mess-free, enabling mobile customers to visualize their potential pies with an augmented reality tool the American chain is calling the New Pizza Chef.

The tool is an add-on to the existing Dominos app. When customers design their perfect pizza, the tool shows exactly the amount of each topping which will be used. The pies can also be viewed from any angle. According to Domino's Australia CEO Nick Knight, “While it's going to help customers choose between the billions of possible variations, it's also going to be a lot of fun.”

There are a number of pizza delivery retailers, amongst which Domino's hopes to stand out with this amusing yet functional AR capability. The New Pizza Chef tool is now available to download as an update to the existing Dominos app.
