Fitness brands and boutiques are integrating recovery-promoting practices into their studios and clubs, utilizing new technology and services that not only support customers post-workout, but also educate them on best practices.

As consumers increasingly recognize the importance of rest, stretching and nutrition, brands are accordingly helping them incorporate these elements into their daily regimens, with fitness clubs and studios nationwide offering customers a chance to de-stress and restore their muscles.

ReCOVER
ReCOVER is a studio in New York dedicated entirely to recovery. It helps members recover from daily stressors, such as muscle fatigue, mental stress and weight loss demands, using technology, such as TENS/E-stim treatments for sore muscles and NuCalm neuroscience-based relaxation technology.

Tone House
Athletic-based group fitness studio Tone House in New York City aims to provide general exercisers with the same training and recovery tools that professional athletes receive. Offerings include recovery workshops, NormaTec PULSE compression therapy boots, cold tub therapy, foam rollers and recovery sessions with an in-house chiropractor. Some of the recovery services are offered at an extra cost, but the studio also offers complimentary mini recovery sessions to those participating in classes at select times.

ENRGi Fitness
ENRGi Fitness is a group fitness studio in Chicago that focuses on recovery as its key component of training. To ensure members prioritize post-workout recovery, varying degrees and methods are included in the format of every ENRGi class.

These are just a few examples of how brands are catering to consumer demand for support in all stages of their fitness routines. For more information, see PSFK’s report Boutique Fitness As Personal Lifestyle Ecosystem.
