The ridehailing service is slated to launch a points-based rewards feature on its app by the end of the year, helping to differentiate it from competitor Uber and drive customer value

Rideshare service Lyft will soon be rolling out its own reward system. Called Lyft Rewards, the feature will be launched this December, after testing in select markets.

While many of the perks of Lyft Rewards are still under wraps, the company has released a few details about the platform: Options will include upgrades to higher-end vehicles employed by Lyft Lux, double points days, and discounted rides. The brand claims that its point system will only improve as its development continues.

This rewards program offer comes on the heels of several value-enhancing initiatives from the rideshare company, including its recent launch of a subscription service to rival competitor Uber's. Lyft hopes that its rewards offer will help differentiate it in the bustling rideshare market, an amenity that Uber has yet to implement.
