To promote its Countryman and hybrid vehicles, Mini is allowing interested parties to tweet @MiniUSA to schedule a drive, hoping to use the social platform to target more millennial consumers

Compact car brand Mini is partnering with social media platform Twitter to arrange on-demand test drives for several of its models. Tweet to Test Drive is powered by a tech company that specializes in on-demand delivery, Fooji, and will allow people in San Francisco and Los Angeles to tweet at Mini and arrange a test drive without having to visit a dealership.

This promotion will be running from October 30 until November 30 for the both the Mini Countryman and Mini Countryman plug-in. To arrange a test drive, those interested can tweet the hashtag #MinionDemand to Mini’s Twitter handle (@MiniUSA) and complete the link with delivery and scheduling information.

Mini’s partnership with Twitter is a first for the car company. Twitter is considered one of the leading social media platforms in information dissemination, which Mini hopes to take advantage of as well as tap into the platform’s millennial following to target the influential demographic.
