Fashion Ecommerce Platform Launches Data-Driven Private Label

Last-season luxury goods etailer Yoox is joining the band of ecomms launching their own private labels with its 8 by Yoox line, designed using AI analysis to fill key gaps in its inventory and curate selections based on current and emerging consumer trends

Private labels can allow multi-brand retailers to provide their clients with affordable items in a profitable way. Italian luxury apparel retailer Yoox is doing so with its own AI-informed line, using data it collected on fashion content popular across social media, key markets and more to develop a collection tailored to its audience.

Yoox’s proprietary AI tool also looked at emerging trends, combining that information with analysis on internal data (products sold, customer feedback, top searches) to curate a list of essentials destined for success as well as determine ideal price points. Called 8 by Yoox, the line ranges from items available at as little as $29 to up to $979 and includes apparel, accessories and shoes for men and women.

Furthermore, the data-driven collection allows Yoox to fill key gaps in its selection with particular offerings. Yoox hopes the new AI-enabled collection will enable optimal customer service, providing targeted offerings reflective of what consumers want, as well as help it compete with the growing number of e-tailers, like Amazon, launching private labels.
