Fans of the premium vehicle brand can mock up their own customized Acura 2019 ILX on their Instagram story, availing themselves of the digital sticker packs designed by influencers and Giphy artists

Acura has its sights set on engaging the millennial consumer with an Instagram-based vehicle generator. Those who post on Instagram Stories can create their own ILX sedan by using digital sticker packs that the brand is providing, offering a plethora of options for fans to make a personalized ride.

To do so, Instagram users must search for the car brand's @Acura handle and click on its Story to activate the customizer. Users can then place virtual stickers of various exterior and interior elements, like wheels and accessories, onto a car model in accordance with their preferences.

Acura teamed up with Giphy to create GIFs that can be added to these custom stories as well. In addition, the auto brand recruited some of Instagram’s top influencers to help design the media for project, including Pablo Rochat and Sean Charmtz.

While Acura is not the first automaker to implement a virtual car customization, it is the first to do so on Instagram Stories. The brand hopes to elevate its engagement through an interactive and non-sponsored social media initiative, targeting influential younger demographics as well.
