Marriott Hotels is collaborating with PepsiCo Lifewtr AR-enabled bottles for a virtual art activation that allows guests to customize a digital hotel room, choosing from a mobile gallery or even creating their own art

Marriott Hotels launched a partnership with Pepsi’s LIFEWTR to be included in select hotels around the United States, with the goal of enabling an interactive and immersive experience for guests.

LIFEWTR bottles will be available to Marriott guests in their reserved Marriott hotel room. Each LIFEWTR bottle will have a custom bottle tag on it, which guests will be instructed to scan by using Facebook’s in-app camera. Then, an AR component will allow them to virtually customize their room via their mobile device.

“We are always looking for ways to engage and inspire our guests through innovative travel offerings, from the thoughtful design of our guest rooms to the enriching experiences we create with partners like LIFEWTR,” Matthew Carroll, Vice President of Global Brand Management for Marriott Hotels, said in a statement.

LIFEWTR partnered with over a dozen artists to provide artwork on the app for guests to choose from and place on the virtual walls. Guests will also have the choice of coloring their own artwork to make images of their own, and can share their room’s new and customized decor through the app, or across other social media platforms.

The launch of this partnership took place at a pop-up event located at The Oculus at the Westfield World Trade Center in New York. LIFEWTR will also be presented at the Miami Art Week occurring from December 6-9 to showcase the unique and immersive features of the product, playing up its alignment with the art world.

With this activation, Marriott Hotels hopes the interactive component in guests’ rooms can enhance the overall travel experience, while creating memorable and shareable moments from the comfort of their hotel room.
