Millie is the artificially intelligent sales associate capable of recognizing customers and holding conversations with them, offering retailers a digital alternative to human employees in the age of ecommerce

International tech company Twenty Billion Neurons created an artificially intelligent sales associate designed to assist in-store shoppers in making purchases.

Millie is a fully interactive program that can track movement, make eye contact and answer questions about the store, as well as hold a general conversation. She is intended to fill the role of a human sales associate, greeting customers, encouraging product testing and giving instruction—and even uses facial recognition to remember recurring customers.

Millie was premiered at an AI convention in Montreal, Canada and according to TwentyBN is already being considered by two major retailers, one in North America and the other in Europe. For those not ready to integrate the avatar in-store, Millie could also be deployed in retailers' app experiences or customer service support.
