In Brief

Expanding its health services for women and on-demand administration of HIV preventative PrEP, Nurx is providing at home kits so women can test comfortably and confidently

Nurx is an online health services provider, offering a convenient and on-demand purchase path by connecting patients to certified physicians and insurance providers. Starting as a means for women to easily receive inexpensive birth control via delivery, Nurx developed a successful direct-to-consumer approach that continues to expand to meet different customer needs.

Nurx is now launching an at-home HPV testing kit, so consumers can test for the sexually transmitted infection in the comfort of their own homes. Nurx is offering this test to its consumers for free if accepted by insurance, not including a $15 lab and shipping fee, and only for $69 if the user does not have insurance.

In addition to providing birth control and HPV tests, Nurx is giving its customers the ability to use PrEP, a once-daily pill that reduces the risk of HIV. Overall, this DTC approach is designed to give consumers the ability to use the testing kit when it is convenient for them and to spare them the doctor’s visit, saving them time and money as well as empowering them to take care of their health.
