Uber Eats is testing out a new Specials section of its app that will let restaurants offer discounted combos in exchange for highlighted promotion on the app's lists

For many, Uber Eats can be among easiest ways to get what they're craving without having to leave their home. In addition to providing convenience to patrons, it also aims to benefit local restaurants, in particular with a new feature currently under experiment.

Uber Eats is testing the program in India, incorporating a section of local “Specials” into the app that lets restaurants bundle food items together and sell them at a discounted rate in exchange for higher visibility. The combinations are cheaper to purchase together than separately, designed to attract customers looking for a bargain.

In return, the restaurants are promoted higher on the list than their competitors. While sometimes restaurants will eat the cost of the discount, other times Uber pays for the discounts. Uber has not yet released a statement regarding the availability of the feature in other countries.
