The Sirin Labs store is designed to widen its market reach by selling the $999 Finney Smartphone in a physical London outpost, simultaneously serving as a hub for the city's crypto community

While consumers love smartphones, they don't necessarily love the privacy concerns that go along with them. Three years ago, Sirin Labs released the Solarian phone which was heavy on security, but also unattainable for many at the price of $16,000. Thanks to advances in blockchain technology, the company is now offering a similar phone with the $999 Finney.

Even more, the phones will be available for purchase at a new physical retail store in London, further helping to drive engagement and accessibility with what was once a more niche item. Sirin Labs’ decision to open its first retail store in London was based on two main factors: The city’s crypto community, as well as its status as one of the major European tech hubs:“London is diverse, creative and a thriving technology hub,” noted Sirin Labs chair Kenes Rakishev.

While Apple and Android dominate the market, Finney hopes to corner a share with its unique implementation of blockchain and focus on privacy. Sirin Labs will be also be opening a store in Tokyo and has plans to expand into additional markets.
