The multi-service rideshare app is poised to disrupt the transportation industry with group planning, prioritizing riders' occasions by letting them create one-time or recurring events, invite guests and finding them the optimal route

Here Mobility is a transportation company looking to upgrade the ride-sharing experience with its recently launched app, SoMo. The program is designed specifically for event planning and transportation, allowing members to create events and send out invitations through the app, and then help guests find their best route and mode of transit.

SoMo is also equipped with location tech that can share locations and establish points for drop off and pick up. The point of the app is to create a rideshare that will be part of the event riders are on their way to, but that can also double as a standard means of navigation without sourcing a third party driver.

Here Mobility intends for SoMo to offer a unique service highlighting the social element of rideshare transport, helping to compete with blended transit apps like Lyft and Transit. “Just as platforms like LinkedIn, Airbnb and Facebook have leveraged social connectivity, SoMo taps into the power of social networks to reimagine the future of transportation,” said Liad Itzhak, SVP, Head of HERE Mobility, in a press release.
