The evolution of ecommerce has allowed retailers to market their products to customers all over the world. Italian fashion retailer, Rinascente, is utilizing WeChat to help them connect with their Chinese customers.

WeChat, developed by Tencent, is one of the largest mobile apps in the world. Through the app, consumers can access an online concierge who is able to answer questions about any of Rinascente’s products. The retailer is going beyond just offering an online concierge: it also hired Mandarin-speaking in-store associates to assist Chinese customers.

When marketing luxury products, it can be especially important to reach the Chinese consumer. This partnership with WeChat allows Rinascente to sell to customers in an important market and answer questions in the client’s own language.
