The retailer enters the shoppable video space with Amazon Live, a feature that lets shoppers watch live product demos and tap to buy

QVC just released its new app that allows viewers to tap on videos in order to purchase products. Similarly, Amazon created its own version of the service, called Amazon Live.

Much like the QVC app, Amazon Live is a steam of videos that highlights various products and brands. Customers can navigate directly to the product’s page from the videos, and choose from various streams to find the products they are interested in. Video streams also come in themes, such as the currently playing Valentine’s Day Gift Shop, which is a cooking-focused show designed for the holiday.

To find the service on mobile, Android and iOS users merely need to update their Amazon app, and the function appears in the navigation menu. However, to get the full experience on mobile, iOS users have the option to download the Amazon Live Creator app, which mirrors the QVC one. As more retailers enter the video realm to enable dynamic and shoppable content, Amazon hopes to edge out competition with its own platform showcasing multi-brand products.
