American Airlines is partnering with Blade experiential travel company to upgrade its premium cx with private helicopter transport to and from the airport alongside expedited, ground-level personal attendant service

American Airlines is investing in a way to make passengers look forward to their terminal experience, not just their end destination. Any American Airlines passenger coming in and out of New York City or Los Angeles will now have the option to skip traffic delays by car and by foot.

When car congestion can add hours to traveling time, impatient customers with the money to spend can opt to charter a private helicopter through the aviation rideshare company Blade. The deal is set up to benefit carpooling customers, as the ride gets cheaper with more people added to it (capped at six). Similar to its automotive counterparts Lyft Share and Uber Pool, this encourages travelers to be more eco-conscious amidst rising consumer demands for green energy.

The hassle-free journey continues at the airport. Through American Airlines’ Five Star personal attendant service, travelers will be escorted by a personal associate directly from their helicopter through a private check-in entrance and security line. When TSA wait times are unpredictably lengthy, this is perhaps the most time-reducing customer service add-on worthy of purchase.

Travelers with a time budget may prefer to gain minutes rather than luxuries. For example, those traveling for business may value a speedy journey to the airport over champagne and a reclining seat. As a result, American Airlines is offering this deal to any passenger holding a ticket, from first class to economy.
