Equinox is parlaying the popularity of its cardio-focused Precision Run class into a dedicated gym in Manhattan's flatiron district, aiming to become the next SoulCycle within the category

Equinox, the gym brand famous for adding an element of modern luxury to fitness, is expanding its portfolio with a treadmill-focused concept. Running clubs have been on the rise lately, with ClassPass showing treadmills as the most in-demand workout regime. Recognizing that, Equinox is slated to launch a facility devoted entirely to treadmill-based classes.

Precision Run is the name of the upcoming gym in New York City’s workout-friendly Flatiron district and is based off of the gym’s wildly successful 2014 group fitness class of the same name. The program combines and balances all of the most effective treadmill running practices, duration, speed, incline and recovery, aiming to provide members with an optimized workout.

The facility will also be open to both members and non-members of Equinox, allowing participants to pay by the class and increasing accessibility. Equinox already has plans to branch out west to Los Angeles later in 2019.
