The pharmacy continues to increase its healthcare services, now offering a dental office at a Palatka, FL location designed to appeal to senior citizens and providing everything from cleanings to crowns

In today’s dynamic retail landscape, brick-and-mortar stores are continually looking for new ways to drive traffic, as well as cater to changing consumer needs. Walgreens Pharmacy is doing so by increasing its value-added services, teaming with Aspen Dental at its Palatka, Florida location to offer on-site oral care.

Previously, the chain teamed up with FedEx for prescription delivery and expanded its beauty counter to increase the value of its stores. Dental marks another step in this direction, offering its customers everything from cleanings and crowns to Invisalign in-store, all while making care more accessible and transparent.

While any of its shoppers can take advantage of the dental services, the program is primarily aimed at senior citizens. Due to gaps in the Medicare system, some seniors may not have coverage for dentistry, a need that Walgreens hopes to help meet. Walgreens’ Chief Medical Officer, Pat Carroll, explains, “The demographic is really looking for dental services…they’re looking for more access. We’re also looking at a demographic that’s really using Walgreens and the services they need at our stores.”
