Outdoor Voices | 606 Blanco, 78703
The activewear retailer’s hometown location is equal parts store and neighborhood center. The shop’s roomy floor plan features the full Outdoor voices collection and can transform into a workout space for events like community yoga and outdoor meditation.
Briggo Coffee Bar | 3600 Presidential Blvd, Gate 8
If you’re flying through Austin’s International airport, make sure you stop by this 24/7 automated coffee bar. Using an interactive touchscreen at the bar, customers can dictate their order based on temperature, number of shots, syrups and more. Mobile app users can purchase in advance and repeat previous orders. Briggo’s robotic barista will send you a text when your drink is ready and waiting.
ModCloth Fitshop | 200 West 2nd Street
The digital-first apparel brand combines its ecommerce experience with the best of in-store personalization in its Austin FitShop. Customers can pop in and shop the fashion curator’s latest styles, and order what they like to be shipped directly to their door. ModStylists can be booked for free 1-on-1 styling sessions in which they join shoppers in store, offering personal style tips and wardrobe advice tailored to the customer’s unique look.
Urban Outfitters Space 24Twenty | 2406 Guadalupe St
The popular lifestyle and apparel retailer’s Texan space follows the success of its predecessors in Los Angeles and New York. Highlights of the community gathering place include multiple restaurants and a popup marketplace with work by local artists. A rotating list of events features workshops and performances with the intention of connecting Austin natives and tourists alike in a multisensory experience.
Candid | 500 N Lamar Blvd Suite 180
Orthodontics startup Candid offers free 30-minute consultations and scans at its physical storefronts, a competitive bargain compared to pricey introductory visits at traditional practices. Although the digital-first brand gained popularity with its direct-to-consumer impression kits, the physical store offers customers the bonus of personalized scans and recommendations from a licensed orthodontist. Customized treatments are assigned and delivered directly to customers' door.
Domain NORTHSIDE | 11821 Rock Rose Ave
Next-gen shopping plaza Domain Northside dubs itself an experience like no other, where locally based brands exist alongside new-to-town startups. The directory features a heavy selection of modern direct-to-consumer brands, including Amazon, Warby Parker, Casper, Away, Bonobos, Peleton and more. Other highlights include seasonal menus from chef-driven restaurant concepts and monthly performance events.
Interior Define | 11701 Domain Blvd, #180
The direct-to-consumer customizable furniture brand takes its online showroom to an offline space at its Austin retail location. The Guideshop lets customers see, feel and interact with its pieces in person, as well as consult in-house specialists on style preferences and space. The store’s lounge design creates a uniquely comfortable shopping experience, where customers are encouraged to grab a drink from the fridge and sink into one of the sofas. Guideshop-exclusive bonuses are given for purchases made in store.
These are just some of the Austin hotspots PSFK has highlighted. For more on what to see and do during SXSW, see PSFK's Austin Retail Innovation Week, an inclusive calendar of industry panels, launch parties, networking soirees and store visits, centered around the festival this March 8-17.
