Hermes is a Europe-based package co that aims to streamline and personalize the parcel sending and receiving experience with dynamic measuring and messaging

Hermes, a discount European delivery service, is adding augmented reality features to its shipping system to provide customers with customization and to enable streamlined packaging: With an augmented reality measurement tool, package senders will be able to better determine which box they will need, cutting out the guess work.

The second feature involves adding a bar code that will allow customers sending packages to load an AR video message into the packaging for the recipient, who can scan the 2D barcode on the shipping label to view the message. Both of these new options are accessible through the Hermes Send app, though they are currently only available for iOS Apple products.

Hermes created the AR tool for iPhones using Apple's ARKit. As more industries embrace new incorporations of AR for everything from advertising to personalization, Hermes hopes to enhance the customer experience of sending and receiving parcels with an entertaining and practical upgrade.
