Kia electric vehicle drivers can order at-home charging units and schedule installation from Amazon Home

While electric vehicle (EV) owners get to avoid traffic at the pump, they can sometimes struggle to find places where they can recharge. Amazon is partnering with car brand Kia to offer home-charging stations, joining Audi in this program to make EV use more convenient.

Customers can order a charging station to be installed through Amazon Home Services by a local licensed electrician. Kia drivers have the options of buying the $764 dollar charger from Bosch, the car's official partner, or the slightly cheaper, Alexa-enabled Chargepoint ($699) or JuiceBox ($549) from Amazon, with both models are WiFi-enabled.

These chargers are Level 2, meaning that they can fully charge a vehicle in nine hours, making it a worthwhile investment for those who use their EV to commute or for everyday travel. Working with Amazon means that these chargers are easily available and could influence buyers when it comes to picking what brand of EV to buy.
