Brave's blockchain-based solution connects customers with 250,000 brands partnered with rewards platform TAP Network, offering those who choose to watch private ads tokens for vouchers, hotel stays and more

Consumers who are streaming video or surfing the internet usually have no interest in looking at ads. Would that change, though, if they were rewarded for their attention with redeemable tokens? That's the premise of the partnership between creator of a privacy browser and blockchain-based digital advertising platform Brave and rewards platform TAP.

TAP Network, which represents companies like Red Bull and Paramount Pictures, is teaming with Brave to offer rewards to customers who opt in to its private ads Basic Activity Tokens (BAT). These blockchain protected tokens can be traded in for rewards like hotel stays and gift cards. Lin Dai, CEO of Tap Network, explains, “Consumer data is being misused by major internet companies and TAP Network empowers consumers to directly take control of their own data and get rewarded from top brands.”

Brave and TAP Network are both built on privacy, thereby allowing brands to connect more ethically with their audiences. Hoping to change the current status quo of viewers avoiding or feeling inundated with ads while brands lose revenue, the partnership is designed to empower and reward the viewer while also giving brands the exposure they need.
