The luxury department store developed a tool that allows its associates to build customer relationships and drive sales via social media

Neiman Marcus sales associates can become fashion influencers in their own right by selling products through their Instagram accounts. This is made possible by SocialShop, a new feature of the SalesFloor app that has already been helping staff connect with their customers by checking out their bios and shopping profiles.

The software company worked directly with Neiman Marcus to develop SocialShop. The feature allows stylists to post a link on their Instagram bio, which will display their Instagram posts featuring product, and then guide viewers to the purchase link on the Neiman Marcus site. This function allows the retailer to track where the leads are coming from, and give credit (often commission) to the employee who brought it in.

According to Glossy, some associates have already created separate Instagram accounts for this purpose. “Our associates spend a lot of time pulling together beautifully curated pages on Instagram, but they did not have a way to sell these items to their customers digitally,” the director of online experience and service for Neiman Marcus, Elizabeth Gleason told Glossy. “What sets this solution apart is having a dedicated page to support the associate’s social posts that is transactionable and easy to shop.”
