The designer rental service will now offer clothing for little ones, helping parents reduce wasted apparel once children have grown out of it

Rent the Runway, clothing rental service that offers subscribers designer labels at lower prices, will now be offering children's merchandise. This addition follows the company's recent announcement of expanding into furniture and home decor.

Because children are constantly outgrowing clothes, parents can be hesitant to invest in quality items, knowing that they will be unwearable in the near future. Rent The Runway hopes to address this consumer concern, featuring rentable merchandise from designers like Chloe, Stella McCartney and Fendi. The children's clothing will be available as an extension of the established Unlimited and Reserve subscription plans, meaning that shoppers can either select a piece of children's clothing as one of their four items in a monthly purchase or they can be added on for an additional fee.

Rent The Runway hopes to better accommodate its subscribers' entire lifestyles by offering apparel for their kids as well, even taking care of kid-specific concerns like messiness: The service's CEO, Jennifer Hyman, commented, “With this launch, you'll never have to worry about a stain or a spill because Rent the Runway handles everything.”
