The tech brand's immersive, discovery-led locations let customers try out its expansive product selection to encourage better engagement while also helping malls' business

Despite the convenience of online retail, customers still value the chance to see and test out products in real life—especially when it comes to technology. Samsung is looking to create tech playgrounds at brick-and-mortar stores across malls in the U.S. as means of driving customer engagement and facilitating pre-purchase trial while also helping increase foot traffic for establishments.

The first Samsung Experience Store recently officially opened at the Roosevelt Field mall on Long Island. The 2,500-square-foot space contains a number of different Samsung products, various areas of the store featuring Samsung Galaxy smartphones, tablets and wearables including the new foldable phone-tablet that recently made headlines.

The store also offers shoppers immersive experiences, such as 4D virtual reality (VR) departments, 3D VR lounge and a video gaming lounge. There is even a section where customers can make their own augmented reality emojis. Other locations to host Samsung's Experience Stores include The Americana at Brand in Los Angeles and The Galleria in Houston. “From trying out a new Galaxy smartphone to seeing it support a 4D VR experience, the store is designed to let customers play and get comfortable with all of Samsung’s newest products,” store manager Steve Poveromo tells Chain Storage Age.
