The American East Coast grocer is drawing from Chicory's massive recipe inventory to enable a shoppable recipe feature for its digital loyalty program

East-coast grocery retailer ShopRite partnered with technology company and digital recipe network Chicory to make food shopping more convenient for shoppers as well as drive engagement for its loyalty program. Members can now browse “shoppable” recipes and simply add the items needed to their digital shopping list.

The feature involved drawing from Chicory's network of 1,000 recipe sites (and and 3.6 million recipes) and integrating them into ShopRite's digital loyalty program, allowing account members to browse, select recipes they want and add the items along with anything else they need to their digital list. From there, store associates can gather their items for them to pick up or have delivered.

Yuni Sameshima, Chicory CEO and co-founder, commented, “Wakefern (ShopRite's owner) has approached this partnership with the shopper experience as first priority, so we hold their dedication to the partnership and their consumer in high esteem.”
