Soludos, a New York-based shoe and accessory company, is taking the opinions and desires of its shoppers into account as it creates its future designs: Rather than catering to the trends of the industry, Soludos will now be reflecting consumers insights in its products, with the help of AI technology.

The retailer is employing the help of MakerSights, an AI company that specializes in machine learning, to help gather and analyze consumer insights. This will allow Soludos to receive customer opinions on everything from preferred material and embroidery designs to heel height. So far, the retailer has identified that its consumers don't all agree on ideal designs, which enables it to segment and design for multiple customers or target specific groups.

“Today’s consumer is wildly empowered and has a really clear idea of what they want both in a creative sense and also from brands they care about. If you provide a platform that allows brands to capture that sentiment at scale, that is a really helpful data input to pair with both historic field data that brands already have and their creative intuition,” said Matt Field, CEO of MakerSights, to Glossy.
