The online restaurant delivery platform is bringing food directly to beach and river loungers in the U.K. this summer via an on-demand jet-ski service

U.K.-based food delivery portal Deliveroo is bringing its services to Cork’s river banks and the beaches of Bournemouth: As of last Thursday, the company successfully completed its first riverfront delivery in Ireland.

The new delivery system is coming just in time for summer in these two nations, peak season for lounging by the water. Specially trained jet ski riders have already made their way to the English coast with food orders. After customers place their order on the Deliveroo app, a delivery person on a jet ski will retrieve it, place it in a sealed backpack and ski on over to the recipient. Currently there is no extra cost to customers for this method of delivery—but jet skiers are limited, so wait times will be a consideration.

Deliveroo is partnered with multiple top restaurants like Five Guys to help get their customers whatever they are craving on demand and in public spaces. Deliveroo piloted a similar program in the Dublin Grand Canal area the year before, but this is a first for Cork and Bournemouth.
