The American designer's latest London store opening is centered around making shopping more personal and leisurely, blending modern and classic aesthetics to create an oasis within the city bustle

Designer Michael Kors wants to embed the leisure of luxury into the shopping experience of its latest London store: The new Old Bond Street location will feature neutral colors, building materials rich in color and feel, and artwork of scenes based in nature to encourage relaxation and provide a residential-like space for respite.

Kors and his team worked to blend modern and classic aesthetics at the London store, maintaining several of the most important details of the Georgian townhouse space, like its brass fixtures and fireplace. The merchandise housed in this store will consist of standard Kors merchandise in addition to exclusive designs and also activewear.

The underlying idea for the store is Kors’ belief that shopping has become too impersonal. Accordingly, the designer worked to create a space that offers city shoppers an inviting and relaxing atmosphere, encouraging them to stay and enjoy the experience.
