Building out its sonic branding while enhancing its store ambiance, the fast food chain is partnering with the popular music discovery service to enable location-specific stations

Fast food chain Wendy's is using Pandora exclusive music channels to create a more immersive and branded dining experience. Recent studies have shown that the sound profile in a certain space has as much impact on customers as the visual design, something Wendy's is taking into consideration with its latest store enhancement.

With 6,000 restaurants in the United States alone, Wendy's wants to focus on creating a cohesive public image, and is using curated playlists to do so. Being present in so many different markets across the country has created a bit of hitch in assembling this signature sound profile, but Pandora has accordingly created five solutions; Wendy’s Fresh Latin Hits, Wendy’s Fresh Hits, Wendy’s Fresh Country, Wendy’s Fresh Indie Pop and Wendy’s R&B.

These playlists were compiled based off of customer data, demographic and location of each restaurant, all important factors in curating music for a restaurant that caters to people of all walks of life. These playlists are already being used in hundreds of their restaurants, by the end of 2019 Wendy's plans to have them in place at over 4,000 of their locations. This comes on the tails of other brands like Mastercard investing in their sonic identity to build brand rapport.
