Living a life of luxury—complete with custom-designed trips—is easier with Airbnb's new service, which caters to high-end clients

Getting an Airbnb is an easy and inexpensive way for people to see different parts of the world. However, now the company is moving towards a different clientele, hoping to bring in more high-end customers looking for luxurious retreats with Airbnb Luxe.

The new tier comes after the acquisition of Luxury Retreats back in 2017, which listed premium mansions, villas and other high-end locations. These new offerings are not just about beautiful places to stay, but also about expanding the brand's experiential travel options. Every booking comes with a “trip designer” who is available to help plan local outings, coordinate bookings and anything else patrons could want.

The system for Luxe remains the same as other Airbnb properties: customers can narrow down listings by where they want to go and look at the various photos, amenities and reviews each listing has.  Some of the luxury experiences that are ready to book include Chateau d’Estoublon in Fontvieille, France which comes with butler and maid service as well as a wine cave and rose garden, Casa Koko in Punta Mita, Mexico with easy beach access as well as several pools in the nine-bedroom home, and Te Kahu in New Zealand, which was named the country's home fo the year for its rustic beauty and star-gazing access.
