Brands like H&M are taking remote personalization to the next level by incorporating AI into the path to purchase to give each piece a perfect fit

With consumers doing more of their shopping online, brands need to meet their elevated expectations even in a digital space. Now, a select few are developing tech that enables consumers to customize their fashion. From AI to quizzes, these brands are implementing new advanced measures to ensure that customers receive products that not only fit well, but also are less likely to be returned:

H&M x ZyseMe
Fast fashion retailer H&M collaborated with Berlin-based tech startup ZyseMe to offer on-demand customized apparel. Through the power of AI, the platform allows customers to buy personally sized men's shirts online by calculating their measurements using ZyseMe's platform.

RedThread
Custom clothing startup RedThread offers basics for working women. It works by using a combination of a quiz and four user-submitted images taken with 3D scan technology, which is available on its site. After all of this is done and submitted, customers will be outfitted with the best size for them.

Unspun
San Francisco-based startup Unspun weaves made-to-order jeans customized to each customer's body. Powered by body scan technology and a 3D weaving machine that eliminates fabric waste during the production process, the company is able to create the perfect fit for consumers without any existing inventory.
