The brand's new flagship location is more than just a dispensary—it's a space designed to stand out from LA's other cannabis stores thanks to Instagram opps, rotating art and wearable merch

The cannabis business is booming, and in the process it's shedding its old burnout image. Just like in any other industry, customers are seeking an elevated experience, leading marijuana brands to open their own stores in an attempt to stand out from the crowd. Enter STIIIZY, a cannabis brand based in California that just opened a flagship location in downtown Los Angeles.

Located in a 6,500-square-foot space, the massive space is at the nexus of marijuana, apparel and art, making the trip worthwhile for shoppers who want more out of their dispensary visit. Murals by LA-based street artists RISK and Mr. Cartoon greet visitors in the lobby, which gives way to an experiential retail experience inside the main building. Art and Instagram-ready moments are littered throughout, plus plenty of STIIIZY's marquis products and helpful associates.

“The idea is to create an experience, not just a shopping transaction,” says Daniel Yi, CCO at the Shryne Group, which owns STIIIZY. “Just opening a nice store is not enough. You have to give customers a reason to go to your store in particular.”

Both a manufacturing and a retail space, the flagship will soon boast windows that allow shoppers to watch workers as they transform flower into the products on the floor. A rotating selection of art and murals will also grace the walls, making for a dynamic, ever-changing experience.

“With full legalization in more and more states, dispensaries joined the mainstream and began operating more like any other regular retail, albeit with tight restrictions and regulations,” Yi says. “We will continue to drive engagement with what feels authentic to us. The brick-and-mortar stores will be a big component of that engagement. We believe that’s where hearts and minds will be won.”
