Shoppers are increasingly looking for transparency from the brands to build trust—especially in the beauty industry, which is working to reinvent its image with cleaner and greener products. Now, a new service called ClearForMe is making this work much easier, thanks to software that seamlessly integrates into existing ecommerce sites.

ClearForMe works by providing brands with an extensive ingredient database, which allows them to catalogue every product by its ingredients. From there, customers can use a built-in search feature to narrow down products based on ingredients they desire and ones they want to avoid. Then, they can browse with confidence, knowing they'll be getting beauty items they can use.

“There is no standardization in ingredient labels, which makes it hard for consumers to find what they’re looking for and hard for brands and retailers to create smart, data-driven product discovery experiences,” said Sabrina Noorani, the brand's founder and CEO, in an email to PSFK. “Ingredient transparency is going to be a key component of that puzzle.”

ClearForMe is already integrated into sites like Credo and Truth In Aging, both of which market themselves on their transparency. The service makes discovery much easier for sites like these, leading to an elevated shopping experience.

“Product discovery should be simple,” Noorani said. “ClearForMe is designed to be the independent ingredient authority for consumers, providing them information that is clear and easy to understand in an intuitive way across all mediums—whether it be in store or online.”
