The brand-new Lexus LY 650 is a luxurious, 65-foot yacht that is transforming the automaker's model, and is designed to target the luxury consumer lifestyle

Lexus is best known for its cars, but a new offering—inspired, no doubt, by the recent surge in luxury interest—offers an entirely new way to drive one of its vehicles: The brand just unveiled its first-ever luxury yacht.

Produced in a partnership with the Wisconsin-based Marquis Yachts, the Lexus LY 650 is a 65-foot vessel that further positions the automaker as a luxury lifestyle brand. Inside the yacht, a main salon holds two captain seats and a sofa. Decked out with amenities like a built-in coffee maker, wine fridge and kitchenette, the boat offers plenty of luxurious space to enjoy.

At $3.7 million, the yacht isn't for everyone. As a brand extension for its high-end clients, however, it's a move that could convince more buyers to take the leap on any of Lexus' products, both on land or at sea. According to the company, the LY 650 is just the first in a series of watercraft—meaning smooth sailing into an entirely new line of products.
