'Tis the season for gingerbread making and cocktail inspiration—so the retailer is exciting consumers this December to spread the cheer with a special immersive holiday curation and programming from STORY

‘Twas the pop-up before Christmas and all through the department store, not a gift was out of place—36 Macy's locations nationwide are preparing for the holidays with the rotating, themed merchandise exhibit STORY at Macy's, in collaboration with cereal giant Kellogg's. The retailer is making gifting easier than ever with a special curated shop-in-shop experience called “Home for the Holidays“, as recognized by PSFK research analysts in our recent papers on NYC holiday and Orlando retail innovation.

The cheerful concept invites customers into the department store to experience more than just shopping the over 800 home-oriented gifts displayed, but also to find guidance in choosing the perfect present for every type of recipient on their lists: The themed shops within the STORY experience offer specialized curated collections for the self-care oriented, the hard-to-buy-for, little ones and more.

“Home for the Holidays” is also intended to spark inspiration for hosting, offering classes on how to lay out a premiere tablescape as well as Christmas cookie decorating and card making.  The retailer's Herald Square Flagship in NYC even offers cocktail making classes dubbed Merry Mixology and Rice Krispie treat personalization called Sweet Gestures. “Home for the Holidays” is open now through December 31 to celebrate the holiday season.
