Zero-Waste Cafe Scen Offers Sustainable Fast Casual Dining

NYC's first-ever 'zero-waste' cafe Scen opened its doors in January 2022 in the NoMad district, bringing healthful dining options with quick and easy access to on-the-go New Yorkers.

Claiming to serve Zero-waste food for human and planetary longevity and launching a new era of fast-casual and functional products, the cafe offers everything from bagels and bowls, to sushi rolls and adaptogenic super drinks. The naming is intentional; Scen means “stage” in Swedish and is pronounced like “Zen” in Japanese. Not only are the ingredients always sourced with sustainability in mind, but the packaging is also 100% compostable, marking its zero-waste ethos.
