Human Clock Unites Global Population in Time

Despite an infinite number of cultural differences, the human population is unified by one inescapable, constant: the passage of time. Hoping to celebrate the incredible diversity of individuals united by time, creative agency WE ARE Pi has designed an interactive “Human Clock” for social conference TEDxAmsterdam.

The Human Clock is a true digital timekeeper. Individuals from all over the world are invited to submit a photograph of themselves via webcam or hard drive; the photo is displayed on the clock’s website for exactly one second and then transitions to another global portrait. Clock hands that display the words “Human Clock” in various languages record each second’s passing.
