Renewable Devices of Scotland has developed a small, quiet
rooftop-mounted wind turbine with an output if 1.5Kw and its not much
more conspicuous than a satellite dish. This initiative has been propelled by the government of Scotland’s commitment to meeting its ambitious
target of 40% of electricity generated in Scotland from renewable
sources by 2020, TreeHugger reports.

Is is not possible to house the turbine in a shroud with a top mounted rudder such that the shroud ( which would look a lot like a jet engine, would funnell the wind into the turbine and increase its speed and therefore increase its efficiency? It would also be more attactive and could be placed inside the roof structure with the movable part being the shroud used as a wind collector.
