Mozilla’s New Trouble: Flock

by Guy Brighton

Jpg As the storm simmers over the vunerability of the Firefox browser, a new browser threatens to take its place. ‘Flock’ calls itself a "social browser" and works with popular web services like Flickr, Technorati and del.icio.us.

The browser is geared towards Web 2.0. Founder Bart Decrem told Wired Mag, "Web 2.0 is a stream of events, people and connections." Decrem’s browser will better understand this new user environment.

Although the makers of the browser say that it has not been designed to compete with Mozilla’s Firefox, the way it is being positioned makes PSFK think that the regular web-user will see it as another Mozilla rather than a replacement for Microsoft’s Internet Explorer.
