Branded Utility: Isaac Tigrett’s Philosophy

During a speech at this year’s Future Trends conference given by Sean Dee, Chief Marketing Officer of the Hard Rock Cafe, presented some slides which reminded us about Johnny Vulkan’s interview where he said "Be good. Produce good products, that provide customers with real value and deliver them in useful, thoughtful and interesting ways."
Sean Dee, who was explaining how the Hard Rock brand had to go back to its roots to reinvent itself and went back to some of the principles Isaac Tigrett founded the original Hard Rock cafe on in London in 1971.
The slide featured above gives a quote from Tigratt that says, "You can not seek simply to exploit culture, but you must earn the right to represent it."

And, today, one of the key learnings the CMO has taken from the experience of redefining Hard Rock is "Give Back, and Contribute To Culture."
