Sugata Mitra at Lift ‘07

by Jeff Squires

Sugata Mitra is a professor of Educational Technology at Newcastle University.  At the Lift ‘07 conference, he gave an incredibly interesting presentation on one of his experiments where he places a computer with internet access and no instructions or guidelines in remote and rural areas of India and observes how children interact with the machine and teach themselves computer literacy.

He gets to his "hole in the wall" experiments about eight minutes into his presentation.
