We were pretty blown away by Shepard Fairey’s talk at the PSFK Conference Los Angeles - so you’ll have to wait for the video to come out to check it out. One thing that did stand out – was about making work that fits your budget.
“If your budget is low – make an aesthetic that works.”
Hence his use of red and black. He also admitted that he had managed to spread his artwork all throughout the world because he had worked out to get free copies at Kinko’s and that he could replace the black cartridge with a red one on the photocopier there!

Mr. Fawkes,
I head the program committee for the AdFed of the Desert here in the Palm Springs area. I think our members would benefit from listening to Mr. Fairey since we all deal with minuscule budgets (relatively).
How do I reach him?
Thanks for your help,
