So You Think You Can Raise Seed Capital?: YouBetheVC.com
Yesterday saw the launch of Bang Ventures’ “You Be the VC,” a site where entrepreneurs submit their online business concepts to compete for the backing of, first, an expert panel, then - the masses. Ultimately, the everyday VCs who join the site will pick the top three ideas from the pool of 20 the expert judges deem most promising. Those three finalists will be given $15,000 each by Bang Ventures, in addition to being provided a summer workspace in Cambridge, Mass., programming and consulting resources, and management support.
Great idea. Our only question is, for a company “focusing on emerging technology companies” and Web 2.0 ventures, why didn’t they invest a bit more in their own site?
