Prince Sues Fans

by Joel Horowitz

Prince SuingPrince is following the fan-demoralizing habit Metallica is so fond of by sending “cease and desist” notices to fans for improper usage of images & songs. Hmm, and isn’t it strange this happens about a couple of weeks after the fan-launched lawsuit involving Universal Music and the 18-month old kid dancing to a rights-managed Prince song?

Seems as if Prince could learn a bit from the anti-copyright, hard-left steering band, Radiohead. But he might not want to take too many tips from them – comScore, the online-measurement company says 60% of fans that downloaded their “pay-if-you-like” In Rainbows album paid nothing for it. Radiohead refutes their findings.
