Art Is The New Real Estate: Banksy’s £208,100 Wall

by Piers Fawkes

News that a wall that Banksy painted has apparently sold for £208,100 on eBay. The painting is on a wall on the side of a media production firm’s base in Portobello Road in west London and will cost $5,000 to remove. We wonder what the artist thinks about someone selling art that was supposed to be so temporary and non-ownable?

Slightly reminded us of a previous PSFK thought piece on how the creative class is looking at art as investment as real estate is no longer available (or even stable enough).
