Reebok’s Freestyle World Tour Collection
While Nike has been the clear frontrunner in the recent sneaker races with Nike Considered, Nike Be True, Nike Trash Talk, and of course Nike+, Reebok has been making some big strides lately. First, they launched their delicious Kool-Aid kicks. Now the footwear giant has debuted the Freestyle World Tour Collection.
The Collection features footwear designs from leading ladies around the world–from New York to Tokyo–that will be debuted throughout the year. Got your passport? Here’s your itinerary for this walking (or running) tour:
February: Tokyo
Who: Ai Yasuda, one of Tokyo’s first NFL cheerleaders (pictured)
Shoe: Bright neon colors and an infused foil print inspired by the city’s metro map
March: Paris
Who: French singer/songwriter Yelle
Shoe: Black, white and red all over, with pink bows–like a girly newspaper
May: New Delhi
Who: Bollywood actress Sagarika Ghatge
Shoe: Textured pink with purple trim and polka dots will help cushion the Bhangra
July: Madrid
Who: Spanish model Bimba Bose
Shoe: Gold and ruffly–inspired by the flair of flamenco dancers
September: London (during London Fashion Week)
Who: DJ Nikki Beatnik
Shoe: Jewel-tone blue, embroidered with the Tower of London’s famous raven on the heel
November: New York City
Who: Actress Sheetal Sheth (stars in the upcoming film “Looking for Comedy in the Muslim World”)
Shoe: Like a taxi cab, only they won’t complain if you pay with a credit card
Each pair retails for $85 with hoodies, track jackets, T-shirts and sweatshirts ranging from $28 to $75. All tallied: much cheaper than airfare.
