Timbuk2′s New “Steve Sleeve”: More than a Manila Envelope

By Orli Sharaby on April 1, 2008

With one simple yet well-orchestrated move, Apple seems to have turned the humble manila envelope into an unwitting spokesman for the MacBook Air. Sort of like the way we say “Band-Aid” when what we really mean is “elastic bandage made by any brand, not just the Band-Aid brand,” soon every time we see a manila envelope we will subconsciously be driven to thoughts of the MacBook Air.

Josh Spear points us to the new “Steve Sleeve” by Timbuk2, a tricked out manila enveloped designed just for the MacBook Air. Besides being extremely durable, the Steve Sleeve is also environmentally-conscious, with seams that use nontoxic glue and a lining made from post-consumer plastic bottles.
