PSFK Conference San Francisco Speaker Eric Corey Freed

by Molly Rosenberg

Eric Corey Freed of organicARCHITECT will be joining our “Making Inspiration Matter” panel at the PSFK Conference San Francisco 2008. Along with Frank Striefler (TBWA\Chiat Day), Josh Morenstein (fuseproject) and moderated by Gareth Kay (Modernista), the panel will discuss how inspiration can be used to create change.

First, who are you and what do you do?

I am principal of organicARCHITECT, an architecture and consulting firm in San Francisco, with over 15 years of experience in green building.

I am the author of “Green Building & Remodeling for Dummies” and write, lecture, and teach all over the country on design issues.

You’ll be speaking on our “Making Inspiration Matter” panel. Could you sum up your approach to “taking inspiration and creating change”?

Design is about finding constraints and using that to inspire a better solution. Nature offers endless inspiration if one knows where to look. Following Nature’s example, we can uncover solutions for our current wave of needs and problems. The best part: we’ve only just begun to uncover the possibilities.
