Transportation Providers Bring the Party Onboard

We recently came across a Finnish ferry service that has introduced online dating/dance parties into their product mix. This idea – using transportation vehicles as entertainment venues – has popped up again in the form of dance parties and live bands being featured on trains. French transportation company SNCF, has introduced two new programs described by the company, below:

iDNIGHT

Friday night full of fun for lovers of original experiences, the first voyage of the iDNIGHT, by iDTGV of course. DJ music, lounge space where there are a thousand things to do (maybe meet someone?), special food offerings for night-time party-goers… iDNIGHT invites you to an original, festive train ride to the end of the night.

Departure from Paris at 10:45 pm, arrival in Hendaye at 6:14 am with a starry sky for a blanket. And the return trip, departing Hendaye at 11:02 pm, gets you back to Paris at 7:20 am after another night of partying.

Rock Onboard the iDGTV

After the triumph of Hocus Pocus in the on-train bar, iDTGV presents Têtes Raides in concert, on the train, and always in partnership with RKST.org. Join them in the on-train bar. Têtes Raides play only for you in a scaled-down lineup of 4 musicians to balance between the bar and the countryside, and in very acoustic format to add to the novelty.

It is still too early to say whether these types of events will take root, but we applaud the effort. Who knew taking the train could be so much fun?
