Susanna Hertrich‘s latest concept plans to tackle humankind’s lack of primal defenses against modern-day “abstract and deferred” dangers. According to the designer and researcher, sensing a stock market crash, an approaching tsunami or an imminent rise in oil prices should be as natural to our brain’s limbic system as avoiding a fire or an approaching car. Fear Tuners are a conceptual skin interface prostheses which work to update our primal sense range by simulating the “autonomous nervous system”.
